Description
ST JOSEPH, RIVIรRE-AUX-CANARDS, MARIAGES 1864-1988
St. Joseph Church, located in River Canard, Ontario, was established in 1864 to serve the local French-Canadian community. The original chapel was a modest 16×14 foot wooden structure, replaced in 1870 with a Gothic-Style church which was demolished in 1911 for a more substantial structure, where the first Mass in the main sanctuary was celebrated on 22 Oct 1916. Over the years, St. Joseph Church has undergone several significant renovations which today stands as a testament to the enduring faith and dedication of the River Canard community, reflecting its rich French-Canadian heritage.
