Description
Temperanceville United Church Cemetery is located on Lot 66, Concession 1, of King Township, now the City of Richmond Hill. It’s on the northeast corner of the King Sideroad and Bathurst Street.
In 1835, James Love sold one acre of his land for a Wesleyan Methodist Church and cemetery. Until 1866, the original log church was known as Love’s Meeting House. In 1934, the grounds were levelled and the grave markers placed on a mound surrounded by a picket fence.
The transcription, published in 1989, is 13 pages long and includes a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
