Description

Thornhill Pioneer Methodist Cemetery was located on the west part of Lot 33, Concession 1E, in Markham Township, now the City of Markham. All that remains of this cemetery is a small cairn and two plaques in Pioneer Park on Normark Drive in Thornhill.

A Methodist church and burying ground was established here in 1837. Burials in time were discontinued and many of those interred were moved to Thornhill Cemetery. No records remain to establish who was re-interred.

The transcription, published in 1990, is 9 pages long and includes a short history, photos, the inscriptions, an index and a bibliography.
