Elder College in conjunction with the Kent Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be hosting a course “Family History Research – Climbing Your Family Tree”
Monday, April 28th, 2014 from 10am to 12pm
Monday, May 5th, 2014 from 10am to 12pm

Have you ever wondered who your ancestors were or where they came from?  This course has something for everyone. Students will be introduced to the basics of tracing their ancestry and family history research. Whether you are just beginning, still learning the basic techniques of genealogy or wanting to stay up-to-date with the ever changing and challenging facets of family history, this course is for you. The Kent Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society assists and promotes family history, and this course is a great way to improve your research and organizing skills, learn about records and resources, and increase your knowledge of your ancestor’s life and times.

Registration is required for this course – register on-line with Elder College.

Course Cost: $35.00 + HST(13% ) = $39.55 (Elder College membership also required).

Instructor: Tom Mountain

Tom has been a member of the Kent Branch OGS since 2000 and has been involved with family history since 1990.  He is a regular volunteer at the Chatham OGS research room located in the Public Library.  His own family research has been focused on Hamilton, Kent Co. and Grey Co. in Ontario, and in southern New Brunswick.  In addition to his own family, he has assisted many others with their personal research.  He also has done extensive research on loyalist families and WW I & WW II soldiers.
