Description
Buttonville Cemetery is located on the west half of Lot 14, Concession 4, in Markham Township, now the City of Markham.ย It is situated on the east side of Woodbine Avenue about 0.3 km south of 16th Avenue.
In 1830, John Button donated land for a Wesleyan Methodist chapel and burial ground. Over the years, the church has disappeared but the cemetery is still in use. The earliest grave marker dates from 1825.
The transcription, published in 1992, is 33 pages long and consists of a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
