Description

Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery (Purpleville) is located on Lot 25, Concession 6, in Vaughan Township, now the City of Vaughan. It’s on the east side of Pine Valley Drive north of Major Mackenzie Drive.

The land for a burying ground was deeded to the church in 1840, and the earliest date on a marker is 1857, the most recent marker date is 1932. The markers were set into a cairn by the Town of Vaughan in 1969.

The transcription, published in 1989, is 8 pages long and includes a short history, photos, the inscriptions and an index.
