Description

Fairbarn Burial Place is located on Lot 5, Concession 4, of the Town of Georgina. It is situated on Baldwin Rd. east of Park Rd.

In 1835, John Fairbarn purchased 100 acres at this site for his family homestead and lived there until 1861. His wife died in 1854 and her grave marker now lies face down and neglected. It is the only marker in the burial plot, however the inscription has been preserved.

The cemetery transcription, published in 1992, includes the inscription, photos and a chart of the descendants of John Fairbarn, born 1779 in Yorkshire, England.
