Franklin Pioneer Cemetery is located on the north side of Herald Road, Concession 8, Lot 6, east of Highway 48 in East Gwillimbury Township.  Among the earliest settlers to the hamlet of Franklin were Allen and Benjamin Graham who arrived at Lots 1 and 2 on the 8th concession in 1842.  The first church, built on Concession 7, Lot 6, served both Franklin and Mount Albert for years.  The church on Concession 8, Lot 6, serving those of the Bible Christian faith, has long disappeared, having been demolished many years ago.
