Description

Atkinson Burying Ground is located on Lot 27, Concession 2E, in the Township of Markham, now the City of Richmond Hill.

John Atkinson, from Yorkshire, and his family, settled on this land in 1819. This is where John and his son were buried. The marker has been moved to the Baker-Cober Cemetery in Vaughan Township.

The transcription, published in 1992, is 5 pages long and includes a short history, a photo, the inscription from the marker, and detailed instructions on how to find the marker in its new location.
