Description
Boyles’ Cemetery is located on Lot 23, Concession 9, in Markham Township – now the City of Markham. It is difficult to find since it’s 0.4 km west of the 10th Concession Road, just north of Major Mackenzie Road, and accessible only through a lane marked by chain link strung between 2 posts.
The cemetery is connected with the community of Mongolia which is at the intersection of the 10th Concession Road and Elgin Mills Road East. A Methodist church was built north of Mongolia by 1855, and the cemetery became the burial ground for supporters of that church. The markers have been cemented into a cairn.
The transcription, published in 1993, is 12 pages long and includes a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
