Description
Carrville Cemetery is located on Lot 16, Concession 2, in Vaughan Township, now the City of Vaughan. It’s on the north side of Rutherford Road, just west of Bathurst Street.
In 1857, Thomas Cook donated land for a Primitive Methodist Church and burial ground. However, no records were kept for the cemetery so it’s difficult to determine exactly when it was established. The earliest visible marker dates from 1864. As of the date of publication of the transcription, the cemetery was still active.
The transcription, published in 1992, is 26 pages long and includes a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
