It is believed that the Canadian Pacific Railway deeded the land for the Chapleau Roman Catholic Cemetery around the same time as they made available, in 1895, the land for the Chapleau Protestant Burying Ground. The cemeteries are on opposite sides of Beech Street. Our transcription records 209 burials with the earliest noted in 1888 for Gertrude Vivian Gillie.
