Description
Locust Hill Church Cemetery is located the west part of Lot 10, Concession 10, in Markham Township, now the City of Markham. It’s situated about a half mile east of the 10th Line on the south side of Highway 7, in the village of Locust Hill.
The first known burial dates from 1843, which pre-dates the establishment of the Wesleyan Methodist chapel in 1855. A number of Markham pioneers are buried here, with surnames such as Button, Reynolds and Flumerfeldt.
The transcription, published in 1994, is 42 pages long and includes a brief history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
