Description

St. George’s Anglican Churchyard Cemetery is located on Lot 6, Concession 9, in the Town of Georgina. The cemetery surrounds St. George’s Anglican Church which is right on the shoreline of Lake Simcoe. The entrance to the cemetery is on Hedge Road.

Well-known people buried here include the Sibbald family and the author Stephen Leacock. The tallest monument is a grey Celtic cross that marks the grave of writer Mazo de la Roche. Burials are now restricted to families owning plots.

The transcription, published in 1994, is 50 pages long and includes a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
