What’s new at Stratford-Perth Archives? With a collection of unique local history documents actively curated since the early 1900s, Stratford-Perth Archives has many treasures available for family history research. This talk by Archives Manager Betty Jo Belton will provide a general overview of the Archives and services of particular interest to genealogists researching families in Perth County and Stratford. Bring your questions and suggestions!

Betty Jo Belton

Betty Jo Belton is the Manager of Archives Services and Archivist at Stratford-Perth Archives, where she has worked since 2005. Prior to that she was in a leadership role at a variety of archives, including Norwich and District Archives, Archives of Canadian Psychiatry at the former Queen Street Mental Health Centre, Anglican Diocese of Toronto Archives and for various portfolios at the Archives of Ontario. In all of these roles, Betty Jo has found that passionate genealogists with their great questions and even better stories are the best part of reference shifts. Betty Jo earned her Masters degree in Information Studies at the University of Toronto. For many years she has lived in beautiful Stratford with her husband Tom and their sons Jack and Sam. Where else can you enjoy world class theatre, “walking around the river” listening to live music from HMS Razzamajazz and a bag of battered mushrooms from Erie Drive-In all in the same afternoon?
