Description

This cemetery is located on part of Lot 89, Concession 1W, in the Town of Newmarket. It is situated on the west side of Yonge Street about 300 metres south of Mulock Drive.

Quakers settled in the Newmarket area about 1807. In 1828, the Hicksite Friends, followers of Elias Hicks, separated from the original society. In 1839, they built their own meeting house and established their own burying ground. The cemetery is no longer in use and is maintained by the Town of Newmarket.

The transcription, published in 1993, is 14 pages long and includes a short history, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
