Description

St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Cemetery is located on Lot 12, Concession 7, in the Town of Georgina. It is situated on the north side of Highway 48, west of Stoney Batter Road in the village of Virginia.

The original Church of St. Anthony the Hermit was built here in the mid-1850’s. While the original church has since been replaced, the cemetery continues in use to this day. The earliest burial is dated 1850.

The transcription, published in 1994, is 35 pages long and includes a short history of the church, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
