Description

Bethel Cemetery is located on part of the north-east corner of Lot 8, Concession 4 in the City of Markham. It is situated on the west side of Warden Avenue north of 14th Avenue.

In 1862, John Lunau deeded a part of his farm to the Bethel Primitive Methodist congregation, and a church and cemetery were established there.  The church deteriorated and was moved but the cemetery remained. The cemetery is well-maintained and, as of the transcription date, was still active.

The transcription, published in 1993, is 16 pages long. It includes a short history, a photo, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
