Description

Headford United Church and cemetery are located on the east part of lot 18, Concession 2, in the Township of Markham. This area is now part of the City of Richmond Hill. The church and cemetery are on the west side of Leslie Street, midway between 16th Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive.

In 1850, one half acre of this site was set aside for a meeting house or chapel and a burying ground. A small wooden chapel called Leek’s Chapel was built, replaced in 1882 by a red brick church, now the Headford United Church.

The transcription, published in 1990, is 15 pages long and consists of a short history, a photo, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
