Description

Lloydtown Pioneer Cemetery is located on the west half of Lot 31, Concession 9, in the Township of King, situated on a hill which overlooks the west side of the town. Access to the cemetery is down a lane off the main street in the south-west part of town.

In 1834, Jesse Lloyd donated a parcel of land at this site for a burial ground. In 1844, a Wesleyan Methodist Church was built across the road. The church was destroyed by fire in 1908.  This pioneer cemetery was abandoned, but was restored and declared an historical site in 1972.

The transcription, published in 1994, is 28 pages long and includes a short history, photos, 2 maps, the inscriptions and an index.
